  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • 4 slices bread
  • 4 slices cheese (cheddar or American)

  • In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  • Add onion and garlic; cook until the onion is translucent.
  • Stir in Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  • On the unbuttered side, layer the beef mixture and cheese. Top with another slice of bread, buttered side up.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and grill each sandwich until golden brown and the cheese has melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Slice and serve hot.
