  • 1 pound ground beef Use good quality for best flavor
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 medium bell pepper, sliced (optional) Feel free to add more vegetables
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 4 hoagie rolls Use whole grain for lighter option if preferred
  • 4 slices provolone cheese (or cheese of choice) You can use cheddar or mozzarella as alternatives
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil For cooking

Preparation and Cooking

  • In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the sliced onions (and bell pepper, if using) until softened.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon and cooking until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Once the beef is cooked, layer the provolone cheese on top and cover the skillet until the cheese melts.
  • Toast the hoagie rolls until golden, then fill each roll with the beef and cheese mixture.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Serve with a side of fries or salad. For extra flavor, add toppings like hot sauce or pickles. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 to 4 days. Reheat in a skillet or microwave.
