Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound medium-sized shrimp, peeled and deveined Fresh shrimp for best flavor
  • 1 pound tender steak (sirloin or ribeye), thinly sliced Choose a tender cut for best results
  • 8 ounces udon or soba noodles These noodles absorb the sauce well
  • 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce Homemade or store-bought

Vegetables

  • 1 cup bell peppers, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup snap peas, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup carrots, thinly sliced

Garnishes

  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds For garnish
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped For garnish
  • 1 wedge lime To serve on the side

Instructions

Preparing the Ingredients

  • Marinate the Steak and Shrimp: Combine them in a bowl with half of the teriyaki sauce. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  • Cook the Noodles: Follow the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Cooking the Dish

  • Sauté the Vegetables: In a large pan, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the vegetables and stir-fry until they are just tender. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Cook the Steak and Shrimp: In the same pan, add the steak and shrimp. Cook until the steak is browned and the shrimp turns pink.
  • Combine Ingredients: Add the cooked noodles and vegetables back into the pan with the remaining teriyaki sauce. Toss everything together until well-coated and heated through.

Final Touches

  • Garnish: Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions over the top. Serve with a wedge of lime on the side.

Notes

Pair with side dishes like miso soup or a light cucumber salad. Complement with a glass of Riesling or a light Pinot Noir.
