Ingredients
  

Filling

  • 4 cups fresh, ripe peaches (peeled and sliced)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar Split into two parts for filling and topping
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • a pinch salt
  • Ground cinnamon for dusting

Batter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Peel and slice the fresh peaches and place them in a large mixing bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  • Gradually add the milk to the dry mixture while stirring to form a smooth batter.
  • Melt the unsalted butter and pour it into a baking dish.
  • Pour the batter over the melted butter without stirring, then add the sliced peaches on top.

Baking

  • Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar over the peaches and dust the top with ground cinnamon.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes until the top is golden brown and peaches are bubbling.
  • Let it cool slightly and serve warm, preferably with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For a crisper topping, consider using self-rising flour. Adjust sugar based on the sweetness of the peaches. Arrange peach slices aesthetically for a beautiful presentation.
