Main Ingredients

  • 500 grams lean beef
  • 2 1/2 cups chopped onions
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees for baking the Texas toast to golden brown perfection.
  • In a skillet, brown the lean beef with the chopped onions over medium heat. Drain any excess grease to keep it as lean as possible.

  • Once the beef and onions are cooked, pour the sauce mixture into the skillet.
  • Cook the mixture over medium heat until it thickens to your desired consistency.
  • While the Sloppy Joe mixture is simmering, place the Texas Green Meal Toast in the preheated oven.
  • Bake the toast for about 6 minutes or until it turns golden brown.
  • Place a generous portion of the Sloppy Joe mixture on top of each golden-brown Texas toast.
  • To finish, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over each slice of toast.
