Ingredients
  

For the Potato Roll

  • 5 large sweet potatoes Peeled and grated
  • 100 grams grated cheddar cheese About 1 small bowl
  • 2 pieces eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

For the Minced Meat Filling

  • 500 grams minced meat
  • 2-3 tablespoons oil For frying
  • 1 piece onion Finely chopped
  • 1 piece hot pepper Finely chopped
  • 2 pieces green peppers Finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper powder
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 cup water
  • 2-3 sprigs mint For garnish

For Bechamel Sauce

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 300 ml milk About 1 cup
  • to taste salt and pepper For seasoning

Instructions
 

Preparing the Potato Roll

  • Peel and grate the sweet potatoes.
  • Squeeze out excess moisture from the grated potatoes using your hands and place them in a mixing bowl.
  • Add grated cheddar cheese, eggs, black pepper, salt, and hot pepper to the potatoes. Mix them thoroughly.
  • Press this mixture directly onto a tray lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 190 degrees Celsius (375°F) until the top and bottom turn light brown.

Preparing the Minced Meat Filling

  • In a separate pan, begin by frying the minced meat until it’s fully cooked.
  • Add finely chopped onions and peppers, and sauté them in the same pan.
  • Stir in the spices and tomato paste, and continue to cook.
  • Pour in hot water, mix well, and simmer until the water evaporates. Remove from heat.
  • Once the potato tray is done baking, take it out of the oven and cover it with the prepared minced meat filling.
  • Carefully roll the potato tray to form a roll, with the meat filling in the center.

Making the Bechamel Sauce

  • In a saucepan, melt butter and add flour. Cook for a minute or two, stirring constantly.
  • Slowly whisk in the milk to create a smooth and creamy sauce.
  • Season the Bechamel sauce with salt and pepper to taste.

Serving the Minced Potato Roll

  • Pour the Bechamel sauce over the potato roll, and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
