Preparation

  • In a medium-sized bowl, combine the Korean red pepper paste, toasted sesame oil, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the marinade.
  • Add the chopped chicken quarters or breasts to the marinade and massage to ensure they are thoroughly coated.
  • Let the chicken sit in the marinade for about 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Cooking

  • In a frying pan, glaze it with 1/2 tablespoon of sesame oil and heat it up.
  • Add the marinated chicken to the hot pan and cook until perfectly done, ensuring a good caramelization.

Serving

  • Serve the Sweet and Spicy Korean Chicken over a bed of rice.
  • Garnish as desired, perhaps with sesame seeds, sliced green onions, or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for an extra kick.
