Ingredients
  

For the Churro Shells

  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil For the dough
  • 1 cup All-purpose Flour
  • 2 quarts Vegetable Oil For frying
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar (coating)
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon (coating)

For the Cannoli Filling

  • 2 cups Ricotta Cheese
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 cup Mini Chocolate Chips

Crafting the Churro Shells

  • In a medium saucepan, combine water, granulated sugar, salt, and vegetable oil. Bring to a boil.
  • Remove from heat, and stir in the flour until a ball forms.
  • Heat vegetable oil for frying to 375F (190C).
  • Spoon churro dough into a pastry bag fitted with a large star tip.
  • Pipe 5-inch strips of dough into the hot oil, turning once until golden brown.
  • Remove churro shells and drain on paper towels.
  • In a shallow dish, combine granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  • Roll churro shells in the mixture until coated.

Crafting the Cannoli Filling

  • In a mixing bowl, beat ricotta cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Stir in mini chocolate chips for that extra burst of flavor.

Filling the Churro Shells

  • Spoon or pipe the cannoli filling into one end of each churro shell.
