Ingredients
  

For the Cake Layers

  • 1 10-ounce premade angel food cake or boxed angel food cake mix, prepared and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 21-ounce can strawberry pie filling

For the Pudding Mixture

  • 1 3.4-ounce box vanilla instant pudding mix
  • 1 cup cold whole milk
  • 1 cup sour cream

For the Topping

  • 1 8-ounce tub whipped topping, thawed

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Lightly spray a 9x9 glass baking dish with cooking spray and set it aside.
  • Layer half of the cubed angel food cake on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  • Evenly spread half of the strawberry pie filling over the angel food cake layer.
  • Add the remaining angel food cake cubes on top of the strawberry pie filling.
  • In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the cold milk and sour cream until smooth. Add the instant vanilla pudding mix and whisk until the mixture starts to thicken.
  • Evenly spread the milk and pudding mixture over the angel food cake cubes.
  • Use an offset spatula to evenly spread the thawed whipped topping over the pudding layer.
  • Spoon the remaining strawberry pie filling in dollops across the whipped topping. Gently swirl the pie filling with a butter knife.
  • Cover the dish tightly and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours or overnight.
  • Keep the cake refrigerated until ready to serve.

Notes

For best flavor, consume within 2-3 days after preparation. You can use frozen strawberries instead of pie filling, but it may alter the taste and texture.
