  • 1 can tomatoes Diced.
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 cups potatoes Optional, cubed.

Preparing the Beef

  • Trim any excess fat from the beef and cut into 2-inch cubes.
  • Lightly season the beef with salt and pepper.

Building the Base

  • In a large pot, sauté the onions until golden.
  • Stir in minced garlic, paprika, and caraway seeds, cooking until fragrant.
  • Add the beef cubes to the pot, browning them on all sides.

Creating the Stew

  • Mix in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and chopped bell peppers.
  • Pour in enough beef broth to cover the ingredients.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally.

Final Touches

  • If using, add cubed potatoes during the last hour of cooking.
  • Taste and adjust seasonings for salt, pepper, and paprika.
