Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 6-8 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by patting the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. This step is crucial to help the chicken sear nicely.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Sprinkle each chicken breast with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  • Add the chicken to the hot skillet and sear for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F). Remove the chicken and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly to scrape up any brown bits stuck to the pan.
  • Stir in the ranch seasoning mix and gradually add shredded cheddar cheese, mixing until melted and creamy.
  • Return the seared chicken breasts to the skillet, coating them thoroughly with the creamy ranch sauce. Simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes.
  • Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, consider adding fresh herbs. Ensure to use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking the chicken. For a lighter sauce, substitute half-and-half or chicken broth for some of the heavy cream.
