  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (optional) Enhances flavor but optional.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Adding lemon juice can enhance the flavor but is optional based on personal preference.
  • Place the chicken breasts in a large bowl or a zip-top bag. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it’s evenly coated. For best results, allow the chicken to marinate for at least 30 minutes to 2 hours in the refrigerator, or proceed to bake right away.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Arrange the marinated chicken breasts on the baking sheet, spaced out to ensure even cooking.

Cooking

  • Place the chicken in the preheated oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Use a meat thermometer at the thickest part of the breast to check for doneness.
  • Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5-10 minutes to allow juices to redistribute.
  • Slice the chicken, garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and serve with your favorite side dishes.

Notes

For best results, marinate your chicken for longer. Use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking. Experiment with different seasonings for a personal touch.
