Ingredients
  

For the chicken

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten Used for coating
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs Provides extra crunch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

For the honey garlic sauce

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (optional, for thickening)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs to create an egg wash.

Coat the Chicken

  • Dip each piece of chicken into the flour mixture, then into the beaten egg, and finally coat in panko breadcrumbs. Set aside.

Make the Honey Garlic Sauce

  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Stir to combine.
  • Simmer for 5–7 minutes. If thickening is desired, stir in cornstarch mixed with water.

Cook the Chicken

  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Add chicken pieces in batches, frying for 4-5 minutes per side or until golden brown.
  • Transfer cooked chicken to paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Combine Chicken and Sauce

  • In a large bowl, combine the cooked chicken with honey garlic sauce and toss gently.

Serve

  • Serve warm over rice or with stir-fried vegetables, garnished with sesame seeds or sliced green onions.

Notes

Use thigh meat for extra juiciness. Panko breadcrumbs provide a crisper texture. Adjust sweetness of sauce to taste.
