  • 12 pieces slider buns or Hawaiian rolls
  • 12 slices slices of ham (your choice; honey, smoked, or deli)
  • 12 slices slices of provolone cheese

Butter mixture

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) for perfect melting cheese and golden-brown slider buns.
  • Slice the slider buns in half horizontally, leaving the bottom halves connected. Place the bottom halves in a baking dish.
  • Layer the slices of ham generously on the bottom halves of the buns, followed by a slice of provolone cheese on top of each piece of ham.
  • In a small bowl, combine melted butter, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir well until smooth.
  • Drizzle the butter mixture evenly over the tops of the slider buns. If using, sprinkle poppy seeds on top for additional flavor.
  • Place the tops back on the sliders, cover the baking dish with aluminum foil, and bake for 10 minutes.
  • After 10 minutes, remove the foil and continue to bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until tops are golden brown and cheese is melty.
  • Remove from oven and let cool for a minute. Slice into individual sliders and serve warm, paired with dipping sauces like honey mustard or BBQ.

Notes

For perfect results, choose quality ham and provolone cheese, avoid overstuffing, and consider adding vegetables or different cheeses for variation. You can also store leftovers properly for later enjoyment.
