Ingredients

For the Sliders

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 for best flavor) Use 80/20 for optimal flavor and juiciness.
  • 12 small slider buns
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese, cut in half
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Cooking spray or oil, for greasing the baking dish

For the Toppings

  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 1 cup pickles, sliced
  • Ketchup and mustard, for serving

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This helps create a nice golden-brown crust on your sliders.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon strips until crispy. This should take about 6-8 minutes. Once done, place the bacon on paper towels to drain excess fat.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined; be careful not to overwork the meat.
  • Divide the beef mixture into 12 equal portions and shape them into patties slightly smaller than the slider buns, as they will shrink during cooking.

Cooking

  • In the same skillet used for the bacon, cook the patties over medium heat. Depending on your stove, this should take around 5-6 minutes per side for medium. Top each patty with half a slice of cheddar cheese during the last minute of cooking to allow it to melt.
  • Lightly grease a baking dish. Cut the slider buns in half and place the bottom halves in the dish. Layer each bun with a cheesy patty, a piece of crispy bacon, and your desired toppings (lettuce, tomato, pickles).
  • Place the top halves of the buns over the assembled sliders. Optionally, you can drizzle melted butter or olive oil over the top for added flavor.
  • Bake the sliders in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.

Serving

  • Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Serve with ketchup and mustard on the side for dipping.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for a better flavor. Don't overmix the beef for tender patties. Customize toppings to taste. Check for doneness with a meat thermometer; medium should be 160°F for ground beef. Use healthier swaps as needed.
