Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (lean)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup uncooked egg noodles
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • to taste Salt
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large skillet, over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
  • Add the chopped onion to the skillet with the beef, cooking until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Then, stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in the beef broth and stir to combine. Bring the mixture to a light boil, then add the uncooked egg noodles. Stir everything together so that the noodles are submerged in the broth.
  • Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and let it simmer for about 10-12 minutes, or until the noodles are cooked and have absorbed most of the broth. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  • Once the noodles are done, remove the skillet from heat. Stir in the sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix until the ingredients are well combined and the sauce is creamy.
  • Transfer the Stroganoff to serving plates. Garnish with chopped parsley for a touch of freshness and color.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. To reheat, simply place in a microwave-safe dish and heat in 30-second intervals until warmed through. For best results, consider adding a dash of beef broth to revive the creamy sauce.
