  • 4 pieces salmon fillets (6 ounces each) Opt for fresh salmon for best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped Can substitute with parsley, basil, or tarragon.
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 piece Zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • as needed pieces Lemon wedges for serving (optional) For added flavor and freshness.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, fresh dill, lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
  • Place salmon fillets in a shallow dish or plastic zip-top bag and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are coated. Marinate for about 10 minutes at room temperature or up to an hour in the fridge.
  • Line a baking dish with parchment paper or grease it to prevent sticking.
  • Transfer the marinated salmon fillets to the prepared baking dish, skin-side down.

Cooking

  • Bake salmon in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  • If desired, broil the salmon for an additional 2–3 minutes for extra crispiness, keeping a close watch to prevent burning.

Serving

  • Remove the salmon from the oven and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in a low-temperature oven or microwave carefully.
