Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 6 ounces each)
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Rinse the chicken breasts under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  • In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a seasoning paste.
  • Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over the chicken breasts.
  • Arrange the seasoned chicken breasts in a greased baking dish in a single layer.
  • Pour the barbecue sauce evenly over the chicken breasts.

Baking

  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • If desired, broil for an additional 2–3 minutes for a caramelized crust.
  • Remove from oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For brining, consider using a mixture of water and salt for 30 minutes before seasoning. Experiment with different BBQ sauces for unique flavors. Use a meat thermometer for precise cooking.
