Ingredients

Oreo Crust

  • 1 package 1 package (15.25 oz) Oreo cookies, finely crushed
  • 0.5 cup 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Cream Cheese Layer

  • 1 package 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Chocolate Pudding Layer

  • 1 package 1 package (3.4 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 cups 3 cups cold milk

Whipped Topping

  • 1 container 1 container (12 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • Extra Oreo cookies for topping (optional) For garnish before serving

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a medium-sized bowl, combine the finely crushed Oreo cookies with melted butter. Stir until all the crumbs are moistened. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish to form a crust. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese using an electric mixer until it’s smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and continue mixing until well combined. Add the vanilla extract and mix again until smooth and creamy.
  • Gently fold in the whipped topping with the cream cheese mixture until fully incorporated. Be careful not to deflate the whipped topping.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and cold milk. Whisk for about 2 minutes, or until it begins to thicken slightly.
  • On top of the prepared Oreo crust, spread half of the cream cheese mixture evenly. Follow with the chocolate pudding layer, spreading it out gently. Finally, add the remaining cream cheese mixture on top.

Chilling

  • Cover the dish with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for the best results.

Serving

  • Before serving, crush a few additional Oreo cookies to sprinkle on top for a decorative touch. Serve chilled.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor and texture. Press the Oreo crust firmly into the dish, and allow the dirt cake to chill overnight for optimal taste.
