Ingredients
  

For the crust and filling

  • 24 pieces Oreo cookies, crushed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Make sure it is at room temperature.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups whipped topping (like Cool Whip)

For the topping

  • 1 cup whipped topping
  • 4-6 pieces Oreo cookies, crushed (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, combine the crushed Oreo cookies and melted butter. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated.
  • Press the Oreo crust mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan.
  • In a separate mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese and beat it with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar to the cream cheese while continuing to beat the mixture until fully combined.
  • Gently fold in 2 cups of whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture using a rubber spatula.
  • Spread the cream cheese and whipped topping mixture over the prepared crust in the pan.
  • Spread another cup of whipped topping over the cream cheese layer.
  • Refrigerate the dessert for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • Before serving, crush the remaining Oreo cookies and sprinkle them over the top.
  • Cut into squares and serve cold.

Notes

For the best texture, allow the dessert to chill overnight. Use a food processor for a uniform texture when crushing cookies.
