Ingredients
  

Base layer

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup butter Softened
  • 1 cup sugar

Filling and topping

  • 1 cup cherry filling Can use fresh cherries mixed with sugar as substitute
  • 1/2 cup oats For streusel topping

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Press the base layer mixture (flour, butter, sugar) into a baking dish.
  • Spread the cherry filling evenly over the base.
  • Sprinkle the streusel topping made from oats and the remaining ingredients.

Baking

  • Bake at 180°C for 30 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Great with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, or powdered sugar. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature, or refrigerate for up to a week, and freeze for up to 3 months.
