Base

  • 1 box cake mix Preferably vanilla flavor
  • 1/2 cup butter Melted
  • 1 cup pineapple Canned or fresh, cut into rings
  • 1/2 cup coconut Shredded or flaked
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Packed

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Add the pineapple and brown sugar to the bottom of the cake pan to create a sweet base.
  • Prepare the cake mix according to the instructions on the package.
  • Pour the cake batter over the pineapple and sugar mixture in the pan.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Once baked, carefully flip the cake onto a serving plate and serve.

Notes

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. Sprinkle extra shredded coconut on top for presentation. Use fresh pineapple for a brighter flavor and greasing the cake pan thoroughly to prevent sticking.
