  • 1 large loaf large loaf of crusty bread (like French bread or ciabatta) Choose a sturdy bread to hold the filling.
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded Leftover rotisserie chicken works great.
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened Make sure it's at room temperature for easy mixing.
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese Feel free to customize cheese types.
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup spinach, chopped (fresh or frozen) Provides a healthy addition.
  • 3 pieces green onions, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Adds aroma and flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt To taste.
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper To taste.
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) For added spice.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for greasing Helps prevent sticking.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise and hollow out some of the inside.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine chicken, cream cheese, cheddar, mozzarella, spinach, green onions, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix well.
  • Drizzle olive oil on the cut sides of the bread, then fill the halves with the chicken mixture.
  • Place the filled bread halves on a baking sheet and bake for 25–30 minutes, until cheese is melted and bread is golden brown.
  • Let it sit for a few minutes before slicing and serve warm.

Notes

For a lighter version, use low-fat cream cheese and reduced-fat cheeses. You can prepare the filling in advance and store in the fridge.
