Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef ribs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (non-alcoholic, beef-friendly variety)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C)
  • Pat beef ribs dry with paper towels
  • In a small bowl, combine olive oil, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper
  • Rub the spice mixture evenly over the ribs
  • Place seasoned ribs on a foil-lined baking sheet, bone side down, and cover tightly with another sheet of foil
  • Bake for 150 minutes (2 hours 30 minutes) until tender
  • Unwrap ribs, brush generously with BBQ sauce
  • Return to oven uncovered and bake 15-20 minutes until sauce is caramelized
  • Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving

Notes

Marinate ribs in the spice rub for several hours or overnight for deeper flavor.
Use a foil tent to retain moisture during baking.
Opt for a sweet, tangy BBQ sauce for a classic balance with beef.
