Ingredients
  

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms and sauté for 5 minutes until tender and browned. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  • In a bowl, mix heavy cream with half of the shredded Swiss cheese.
  • Layer chicken breasts in a baking dish. Pour sautéed mushrooms over the chicken, then evenly spread the cream and cheese mixture on top.
  • Sprinkle the remaining Swiss cheese over the dish.
  • Bake for 35 minutes until the chicken reaches 165°F and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Use fresh mushrooms for optimal flavor and texture
Breadcrumbs can be added to the top for a crispy finish
Prep the dish in advance and refrigerate until ready to bake
Substitute Swiss cheese with Gruyère or mozzarella if desired
Check chicken temperature to avoid overcooking
