Ingredients
  

  • 2 sheets of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 3 medium apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
  • Flour (for dusting)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
  • Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the puff pastry sheets to ensure they are smooth and even in thickness
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss until apples are coated
  • Cut each sheet of puff pastry into 4x4 inch squares
  • Place a spoonful of the apple mixture onto one half of each pastry square
  • Fold the other half over the filling and use a fork to seal the edges
  • Whisk together egg and water for the egg wash and brush onto each turnover
  • Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown
  • Let the turnovers cool before serving
