Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup tomato sauce

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, onion, garlic, parsley, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper
  • In a separate small bowl, whisk the milk and egg together. Add to the meat mixture and combine until just incorporated
  • Transfer the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan. Shape into a loaf
  • Pour half of the tomato sauce over the meatloaf, reserving the rest
  • Bake for 50 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C)
  • Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with remaining tomato sauce drizzled on top

Notes

Use lean ground beef for reduced fat without sacrificing juiciness
Don’t overmix the ingredients to maintain tenderness
Add grated carrots or bell peppers for extra moisture and nutrition
Chill the meatloaf mixture for 1 hour before baking to enhance flavor
Use a thermometer to ensure perfect doneness
