  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
  • Prepare a 9x13 inch baking dish by greasing or lining with parchment paper
  • Melt the butter over low heat, cool slightly, then stir in sugar
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing after each
  • Stir in vanilla extract
  • In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder
  • Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined
  • Pour batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly
  • Bake for 25 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs
