Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, egg, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Shape the meat mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs.
  • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sear meatballs in batches until browned.
  • Transfer meatballs to a baking dish. Pour marinara sauce over them and sprinkle additional Parmesan.
  • Bake for 15–20 minutes until meatballs reach 165°F (75°C). Let rest before serving.

Notes

Add fresh herbs like basil for extra flavor
Avoid overmixing to prevent tough meatballs
Add milk or chicken broth if the mixture is too dry
Freeze pre-made meatballs for meal prep
Store-bought marinara is convenient, but homemade is ideal
For a lean alternative, substitute ground turkey for chicken
