Ingredients

Brownie Batter

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder High-quality preferred for deeper flavor
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped Toasted for enhanced flavor

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Add the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder to the saucepan. Mix until just combined—do not overmix.
  • Gently fold in the chopped walnuts, distributing them evenly throughout the batter.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

Baking

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
  • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before cutting into squares.

Notes

For perfect brownies, use high-quality cocoa powder, avoid overbaking for a fudgier texture, and consider adding chocolate chips for extra richness. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week.
