Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey (93% lean recommended)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional) for extra flavor
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for cooking
  • 4 pieces burger buns

Optional Toppings

  • lettuce
  • tomato
  • onion
  • pickles
  • cheese
  • avocado

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika (if using), salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until the seasonings are evenly distributed.
  • Divide the seasoned turkey mixture into 4 portions and shape each into a patty, about 1/2 inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty.
  • Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.

Cooking

  • In the hot skillet or grill pan, cook the patties for 5-6 minutes without moving them to form a crust.
  • Flip the burgers and cook for another 5-6 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Remove from heat and let them rest for 2-3 minutes before serving.
  • Serve on toasted buns with your favorite toppings.

Notes

For best results, avoid overcooking and consider adding grated onion or mayonnaise for extra moisture. Toasting the buns will enhance texture.
