  • 2 pieces eggs Use room-temperature eggs for best results.
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour Can replace half with whole wheat flour for added fiber.
  • 1/4 cup milk Substitute with almond or oat milk for dairy-free version.
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar. Mix until smooth.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For extra flavor, add chocolate chips or chopped nuts. If you prefer sweeter brownies, increase the sugar by 1/4 cup. Let the brownies cool completely before slicing for clean pieces.
