Preparation

  • In a small bowl, mix the chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss the shrimp with olive oil and the spice mixture until evenly coated.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and opaque. Remove from heat.
  • Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until soft and pliable.

Assembly

  • Divide the cooked shrimp evenly among the tortillas.
  • Top each taco with shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes, red onion, and cilantro.
  • Squeeze fresh lime juice over the tacos and add any optional toppings you like.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Shrimp Tacos!

Notes

Store cooked shrimp and toppings separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat shrimp gently in a skillet over medium heat or in the microwave until warmed through. Tortillas are best warmed fresh before serving. Avoid reheating assembled tacos as they can become soggy. For extra flavor, marinate the shrimp in the spice mix for 15-30 minutes before cooking.
