  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded Use more or substitute with your favorite cheese.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cubed chicken, chopped onion, cream cheese, and half of the cheddar cheese. Stir until well mixed.
  • Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of a greased baking dish, creating a crust.
  • Spread the chicken mixture evenly over the crescent roll crust.
  • Roll out the remaining crescent roll dough and place it on top of the chicken mixture.
  • Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

This casserole pairs well with a simple side salad or steamed vegetables. For an extra kick, serve with sour cream or hot sauce. For storage, cover tightly and refrigerate for 3-4 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C). Consider adding vegetables like bell peppers or spinach for additional flavor.
