  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Use freshly grated for best flavor.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For garnish

  • Chopped parsley For garnish
  • Cooked pasta or rice (optional) Serve over your choice of pasta or rice.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add the shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and add the Parmesan cheese, stirring until the cheese is melted and the sauce thickens.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve over cooked pasta or rice if desired and garnish with chopped parsley.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in a skillet over low heat, adding a splash of cream to regain its creamy texture if needed. Do not overcook the shrimp as they can become tough.
