Casserole Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded or cubed Use leftover chicken for convenience.
  • 1.5 cups cooked ham, diced
  • 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese, divided
  • 0.5 cup sour cream
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Topping Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup bread crumbs, plain or seasoned (optional) Adding cheese on top.
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (optional) For crispy topping if desired.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, ham, and 1 1/2 cups of the Swiss cheese.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the sour cream, milk, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  • Pour the soup mixture over the chicken and ham mixture. Stir gently to combine, ensuring that everything is well coated.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Spread it evenly.
  • Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of Swiss cheese over the top of the casserole.
  • In a small bowl, combine the bread crumbs and melted butter if desired. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the cheese.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with a side of green salad or steamed vegetables. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days, or frozen for longer storage.
