  • 4 pieces Juicy breaded chicken
  • 4 slices Savory ham
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup Honey mustard sauce
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • as needed Oil for frying or baking

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) or heat oil in a pan for frying.
  • Season the chicken with salt and pepper, then coat with breadcrumbs.

Cooking

  • In a skillet, cook the breaded chicken until golden brown on both sides.
  • Layer ham and Swiss cheese on top of the chicken.
  • Drizzle honey mustard sauce over the top.
  • If baking, transfer to the oven and bake for 20 minutes until the cheese is melted. If pan-frying, cover the skillet and cook until the cheese is melted and chicken is cooked through.
  • Serve warm.

Notes

To keep the chicken extra juicy, try marinating it in a bit of olive oil and lemon juice before breading. You can use different types of cheese if Swiss is not available; mozzarella or provolone work well too. For a crunchier coating, double coat the chicken by dipping it in egg again after the first breadcrumb coating. If you have leftovers, let them cool down, then place them in an airtight container. They can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days. For longer storage, consider freezing them.
