  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, mix the sugars, oil, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Allow the muffins to cool before serving.

Notes

These muffins are delicious warm, served plain or topped with vanilla ice cream. Store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
