Ingredients
  

Steak Ingredients

  • 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter divided
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Pasta Ingredients

  • 10 oz jumbo pasta shells
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated fresh parmesan cheese plus extra for serving
  • to taste Italian herbs (oregano and basil)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Season steak pieces generously with salt and pepper.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tbsp of butter.
  • Add seasoned steak bites and sear until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Cook pasta shells according to package directions until al dente; drain and set aside.

Cooking

  • In the same skillet used for the steak, reduce heat to low and add remaining butter along with minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Pour in heavy cream and stir in grated parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with Italian herbs.
  • Gently fold cooked pasta shells into the creamy sauce along with sautéed steak bites until well-coated.

Serving

  • Serve warm, garnished with extra parmesan if desired.

Notes

Make sure your steak is at room temperature before cooking for even cooking. Use freshly grated parmesan for the best flavor and texture. If you like a little heat, consider adding some red pepper flakes to the creamy sauce. For a lighter option, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or lower-fat cream. You can also add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for extra nutrition and flavor.
