  • 1 pound ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk Add more if the mixture seems too dry.
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup ketchup Can drizzle extra on top when serving.
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese Optional for extra moisture.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, ketchup, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined. If using, add the grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.

Cooking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  • Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a side salad. Can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days, or frozen for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator before reheating. Consider adding chopped vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for a variation.
