  • 1 lb ground beef Use lean ground beef to reduce grease.
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Feel free to use your favorite type of cheese.
  • 1/2 cup Bisquick or all-purpose baking mix Any all-purpose baking mix can be used.
  • 1 cup milk

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Drain any excess fat. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Spread the beef mixture evenly into a greased 9-inch pie dish. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together Bisquick, milk, and eggs until smooth.
  • Pour the batter over the meat and cheese in the pie dish.

Cooking

  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

You can slice it like a traditional pie and enjoy it with ketchup, mustard, or pickles on the side. It pairs well with a fresh salad or steamed vegetables. Make sure to drain the excess fat from the beef to avoid greasiness. Add favorite toppings for extra flavor.
