Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1 pound ground venison
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (for topping)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground venison, breadcrumbs, onion, milk, egg, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and thyme. Mix until well combined.
  • Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
  • Spread ketchup on top.

Baking

  • Bake for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  • Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Mix the ingredients gently but do not overmix, as this can make the meatloaf tough. You can add chopped vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for extra flavor and nutrition. If you don’t have breadcrumbs, crushed crackers or oats can be a good substitute. For a spicier version, add some crushed red pepper flakes or hot sauce to the mix.
