Meatloaf Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Glaze Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (for glaze)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, eggs, milk, breadcrumbs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan or on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Glaze Preparation

  • In a small saucepan, combine the brown sugar, ketchup, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce for the glaze. Heat over low until smooth, stirring constantly.
  • Spoon half of the glaze over the meatloaf.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes.
  • Add the remaining glaze and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  • Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve with a side of mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months. For a twist, mix in some shredded cheese or chopped vegetables into the meat mixture.
