  • 1.5 lbs 1 1/2 lbs ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 1 cup 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup 1/2 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 0.25 cup 1/4 cup ketchup For added flavor on top.
  • 2 pieces 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp 1 tsp dried oregano

Preparation and Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, ketchup, eggs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and oregano.
  • Mix until well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish or on a lined baking sheet.
  • Bake for 1 hour, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
  • Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Classic Meatloaf is delicious on its own or with sides like mashed potatoes, green beans, or salad. It can also be drizzled with extra ketchup or barbecue sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days, or freeze for longer storage.
