Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) Adjust amount based on desired spiciness.
  • 4 cups cooked rice Can use brown rice; adjust cooking time accordingly.
  • 2 stalks green onions, sliced

Instructions

Cooking Instructions

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  • Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the mixture is heated through.
  • Serve the beef mixture over cooked rice and top with sliced green onions.

Notes

For added flavor, consider marinating the beef in the soy sauce and garlic mixture for 30 minutes before cooking. To store, let it cool, place in an airtight container, and refrigerate for 3-4 days. Freezing is also an option; thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating.
