Ingredients
  

For the crust

  • 2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

For the cheesecake filling

  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened Make sure it is at room temperature.
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup sour cream Greek yogurt can be used as a substitute.
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate, melted
  • 2 tablespoons orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs Add one at a time, mixing just until incorporated.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of a springform pan to form the crust.

Cheesecake Filling

  • In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
  • Add sour cream, melted chocolate, orange zest, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing just until incorporated. Do not overmix.
  • Pour the cheesecake filling over the crust in the springform pan.

Baking

  • Bake for 55-60 minutes or until the center is set but still slightly jiggly.
  • Let it cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Notes

Serve chilled, optionally topped with whipped cream and garnished with extra orange zest or a drizzle of chocolate sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-5 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
