Ingredients
  

For the crust

  • 1 package Oreo cookies Crushed for the crust
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

For the filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Ensure it is softened to avoid lumps
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream Whipped until stiff peaks form
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Can substitute with almond extract for variation
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • Red food coloring (optional) Adjust the amount to desired color intensity

Preparation

  • Crush the Oreo cookies in a food processor and mix with melted butter until combined. Press this mixture into the bottom of a trifle dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and continue to beat until well combined.
  • In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture gently.
  • Add cocoa powder and red food coloring to the mixture (if using), and mix until well incorporated.
  • Layer the cheesecake filling over the Oreo crust in the trifle dish.
  • Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to let it set.

Serving

  • Serve in a clear glass or trifle dish to showcase the layers. Scoop out with a spoon and top with crushed Oreos or whipped cream if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Best enjoyed within the first two days. Adjust cream cheese and butter quantities for a lighter dessert.
