For the filling

  • 2 pounds ricotta cheese Use high-quality ricotta for creaminess.
  • 3.9 oz instant chocolate pudding mix Prepare with milk as directed.

For garnish

Instructions
 

Baking the Cake

  • Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions and bake it in a 9x13 inch pan.
  • Allow the cake to cool completely.

Preparing the Filling

  • In a bowl, combine the ricotta cheese and the prepared chocolate pudding mix (made with milk).
  • Mix until well combined.

Layering the Dessert

  • Cut the cooled cake into layers or cubes.
  • In a serving dish, layer the chocolate cake and the ricotta/pudding mixture, repeating until all the ingredients are used.
  • Finish with a layer of the ricotta mixture and garnish with chocolate shavings or cocoa powder.

Chilling

  • Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
