Main Ingredients

  • 3 pieces ripe bananas, mashed Use overripe bananas for the best flavor.
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 piece egg, beaten Can be substituted with flaxseed meal or mashed avocado for a vegan option.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour blend.
  • 1/2 cup Nutella Adjust amount according to preference.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, mix the mashed bananas with melted butter.
  • Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
  • Sprinkle in the baking soda and salt, mix well.
  • Add the flour and stir until just combined.

Assembly

  • Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  • Dollop half of the Nutella on top and swirl with a knife.
  • Pour the remaining banana batter on top and dollop with the remaining Nutella, swirling again.

Baking

  • Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let cool before slicing.

Notes

Serve warm with butter or honey, and can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature. For freezing, wrap in plastic wrap and aluminum foil for up to 3 months.
