  • 1 lb ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 6 slices bacon (cooked and crumbled) Cook until crispy for best texture.
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped) Any type of onion can work, but yellow or white is recommended.
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced) Fresh garlic adds the best flavor.
  • 4 large eggs Bind the casserole together.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Add richness to the dish.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (divided) Use sharp cheddar for more flavor.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (divided) Creates a wonderful melted cheese topping.
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese (softened) Helps to create a creamy texture.
  • 2 tbsp sugar-free ketchup (optional) For added sweetness and flavor.
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard Classic flavor in cheeseburgers.
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika Adds a smoky depth.
  • ½ tsp garlic powder Enhances the garlic flavor.
  • ½ tsp salt Adjust to taste.
  • ¼ tsp black pepper To taste.
  • 2 tbsp chopped pickles (optional topping) For garnish.
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional) Add freshness and color.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a skillet, cook bacon until crispy. Remove, crumble, and set aside.
  • Drain most of the bacon grease, leaving about 1 tbsp. Add ground beef, onion, and garlic. Cook until beef is browned and onion is soft.
  • Stir in smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Lower heat, then stir in softened cream cheese until melted into the beef mixture. Add crumbled bacon back in. Spread this mixture evenly into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • In a bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, mustard, and ketchup (if using). Stir in half the cheddar and half the mozzarella.
  • Pour egg mixture over the beef layer in the baking dish. Top with remaining cheeses.

Baking

  • Place in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden.
  • Let cool slightly before slicing. Garnish with pickles or parsley if desired.

Notes

This casserole is best served warm. You can enjoy it on its own or with a simple side salad for added freshness. Feel free to customize by adding your favorite spices or vegetables, such as bell peppers or mushrooms. If you want a spicier kick, add a dash of hot sauce or cayenne pepper.
